Certifications.

Certification is a rigorous, but highly valuable, process of obtaining a credential for your business growth. Obtaining one or more certifications assures that your business is ready to participate on public contracts, and qualified to perform at a high level. We offer guidance and certification for six different categories, and of course you are likely to qualify and pursue more than one.

Please be aware that there are various types of certifications available in the market. It's important to note that the city only recognizes two specific categories of certifications:

Local Certifications: Certifications issued at the local level found in the DMRC Chapter 28, Article III, V, and VII.
Federal Disadvantaged Business Certifications: Certifications program in accordance with 49 CFR Part 26.

If your goal is to attain city-recognized certification, you must complete DSBO's application and certification process. The city does not accept any other certifications outside of these specified categories. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our certification requirements.

The RTD Small Business Opportunity Office's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise/Small Business Enterprise (DBE/SBE) Program creates a level playing field, removing barriers and assisting in the development of businesses like yours. We are focused on building a stronger Colorado economy by certifying firms, ensuring compliance of goals set, and providing training so DBE/SBEs can grow and thrive in this competitive industry. The Small Business Opportunity Office is part of RTD's Civil Rights Division.
